Designing together, using buildings better

Peter-Willem Vermeersch

At archipelago, we actively involve building users – such as patients, pupils and employees – in the design process. Through spatial design exercises, we gather insights from the people who will spend the most time there. The focus lies on user experience and wellbeing. This yields richer knowledge for the architects and ensures that users feel more involved, motivated and autonomous in decisions about their environment. In this way, a building emerges that is not only well designed, but also genuinely feels right for those who live and work in it.
