Lime hemp block laying for Praktijkpunt Landbouw
On 20 June, the first lime hemp block laying took place for Praktijkpunt Landbouw – a research institute for innovative crops in Herent, Flemish Brabant. This new research centre will be built using bio-based materials such as solid wood, processed wood products, lime hemp and loam. The structure is also adaptable and designed for future renovations and expansions. With a performance-based design approach, the volumetry and façade design are optimally tailored to natural daylight, shading and natural ventilation. In this way, we will achieve a “right-tech” working environment with low environmental impact through research-driven and innovative architecture.
